Comprehensive HIV Response
HIV/AIDS remains one of the most pressing health challenges in Malawi, with approximately 8.9% of adults living with HIV. Our program takes a comprehensive approach to addressing this epidemic through community-based awareness, testing, and prevention initiatives.
A critical component of our work is Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT). We work with expectant mothers, health facilities, and communities to ensure that HIV-positive mothers receive the support and treatment they need to protect their children from infection.
Through partnerships with local health facilities, traditional leaders, and community health workers, we bridge the gap between health services and the communities that need them most, ensuring no one is left behind.
What We Address
Our HIV/AIDS & PMTCT program tackles the epidemic from multiple angles — prevention, testing, treatment support, and stigma reduction.
Community-Based Testing & Counseling
Bringing HIV testing services directly to communities, reducing barriers to access and encouraging early detection.
Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission
Comprehensive PMTCT programs ensuring HIV-positive mothers receive the support needed to protect their children.
Anti-Stigma Campaigns
Challenging misconceptions and reducing discrimination against people living with HIV through education and advocacy.
Youth HIV Prevention Education
Targeted programs for young people focusing on prevention, safe practices, and empowering informed decision-making.
Health Facility Partnerships
Collaborating with local health centers to strengthen referral pathways and ensure continuity of care for those affected.
How It Works
We use a multi-pronged approach combining community outreach, health facility partnerships, and peer education to maximize impact.
Community Awareness Campaigns
Large-scale outreach events in villages, markets, and community centers that provide HIV education, free testing, and counseling services.
PMTCT Support Programs
Working with expectant mothers and health facilities to ensure early testing, treatment adherence, and safe delivery practices.
Peer Education Networks
Training community members as peer educators who can share accurate HIV information and support within their own networks.
Support Group Facilitation
Creating safe spaces for people living with HIV to share experiences, access psychosocial support, and build resilience.

Why It Matters
Despite significant progress, HIV/AIDS continues to affect millions of lives in Malawi. Stigma, lack of information, and limited access to testing remain major barriers to ending the epidemic.
"Every person tested is a step toward ending the epidemic. Every mother supported through PMTCT is a child's life protected."
